They have a small enough number of your details to appear very convincing. They tell you that someone has tried to use your card details to buy goods from various shops e.g. Argos, even claiming your details are being used to make a purchase at the time they are speaking to you (NOW) naming a shop, the amount of money and a Town/City in the UK. They send texts to your phone whilst speaking to you, to convince you that it is the RBS. DO NOT tell them anything or give/confirm any of your card or bank details.
